February 28, 2026 marks 40 years since Prime Minister Olof Palme was shot dead by an unknown assailant after a visit to the cinema in central Stockholm. In eight episodes, André Pops and Lasse Lampers go through what happened on Sveavägen and several of the possible (and impossible) theories that exist about who or what is behind the murder. With the support of film material from SVT's archives, stills, old and new documents, tape recordings and newly made interviews, including with Joakim Palme, we remember the dramatic events while gaining new insights into the criminal investigation.
